Melting last night & today. I'm sure it wouldn't be too bad if a) I was out in the country & had decent, unpolluted air and b) I didn't have the summer cold from hell right now. But as it is, it's too hot for comfort. Got Jim & one of his workmates staying this week so instead of sticking something in the microwave I put a pie in the oven so of course it was boiling in here. We tried to eat in the garden, but were driven inside by loads of tiny black flying insects who decided they wanted their share. Had the windows wide open in the bedroom and the fan on full blast but still too hot lying on top of the covers - I pity Paul as I only have one fan (had 2 but can't find the old one) so he had to do without. I don't dare open the bedroom curtains in either room as the sun floods in all afternoon making it hotter. You can walk up the stairs here and feel your head go through the heat barrier as it gets level with the upstairs floor!
Why do we never seem to have a really good temperature? It seems to jump suddenly from about 22C to 30C with nothing in between. 24-27C is about perfect summer weather imho. Still, at least I'm not having to do hard physical work in this, unlike Jim & Paul poor ba$tards!

I agree - it seems to be either 18 - 20, or 30+. I can cope with 30+. but I'd prefer the mid-20's, as I'm sure everyone else would.
Just be thankful you don;t have to use the tube. Or, in fact, Public Transport at all...
